Summer School of Theology 2025: "World with Broken Borders: Theological Perspectives on Displacement and Diasporas"

July 28 – August 2, 2025

The Eastern European Institute of Theology invites everyone to the Summer School of Theology 2025 “World with Broken Borders: Theological Perspectives on Displacement and Diasporas," which will be held from 28 July to 2 August on the Zoom platform. The theme of this year's school addresses the problem of forced displacement due to wars, military conflicts, environmental disasters, etc., as well as the leadership role of Christian communities in the diaspora. Almost every country in the twenty-first century faces the challenges of migration in one way or another: either as a country that people leave or as a country that receives others. Russia’s war against Ukraine brought to us, among other injustices, the agonizing heartache of the experience of displacement. Therefore, about fifteen expert speakers (theologians, biblical scholars, philosophers, psychologists) from different parts of the world will join the school to address the topic of forced displacement, bringing to the table not just expert insights but also perspective of their own experience – all in all for the benefit of Ukrainian Christian communities.

More information about the speakers and the school schedule will soon be available on the Institute's website. All details and registration see here.

Eastern European Institute of Theology would like to thank DniproHope Mission, ScholarLeaders, Langham Publishing, Mesa Global for their organizational support.
