Yevgen Ustinovich specializes in New Testament studies. His primary area of interest is Aramaic words and semantic shift in the Gospel of John. He also explores such themes as social identity in the Fourth Gospel, especially as it relates to the historical and cultural changes taking place at the end of the first century A.D. In 2019 he defended his Ph.D. dissertation at Evangelische Theologische Faculteit (Leuven, Belgium). The title of the dissertation is “Rabbi” in the Gospel of John: A Sociolinguistic Approach to Speech Accommodation on the Intratextual and Extratextual Levels.
