Open Call for Studying in Belgium Under the Erasmus+ 2025 Program

The Eastern European Institute of Theology invites applicants to take part in a competition to study in Belgium under the Erasmus+ academic mobility program.

Within the partnership between the Eastern European Institute of Theology and Evangelische Theologische Faculteit (ETF) (Leuven, Belgium), there is an agreement on joint participation in the Erasmus+ academic exchange program. During the spring semester of 2025, undergraduate and postgraduate students from Ukraine (or Ukrainians studying outside Ukraine) have the opportunity to spend 3 months at the Evangelische Theologische Faculteit (ETF) to conduct research and write texts (articles, dissertation chapters, etc.). Students will be able to attend the classes of master's programmes at ETF and receive consultations from the professors of this institution. Students will also have the opportunity to to join an international academic network, which will be fruitful for their future academic career in Ukraine.

Selection Criteria
  • The applicant must be a student of at least a master's degree program and plan further academic career development. This means that he/she is already working on a dissertation project or planning to study for a PhD. Preference is given to PhD students.
  • The applicant must have at least a B2 level of English.
  • The research topic must be in the field of theology or religious studies.
  • The expected outcomes of a student's participation in the programme will depend on his/her academic background and will be discussed individually. This may include an article for Theological Reflections: Eastern European Journal of Theology, some presentations, a draft of a dissertation research, or even one or two chapters of a dissertation if the candidates are already at the stage of writing a dissertation.
Financial Support for Students Studying Under the Erasmus+ Program
  • Travel budget (per student): 275 euros.
  • Support for 3 months of stay in the ETF (per student): 850 euros per month.
  • The program budget does not provide for additional funding for family members of program participants.
