Vasyl Matsyuk

Research Fellow

Master of Arts in Theology

Main research interests: Christian ethics; political theology; intersection of literature and theology; contextual theology; liberation theology.

Vasyl Matsyuk studied comparative literature and philosophy at the University of Washington, Seattle, before pursuing theological studies at Fuller Theological Seminary and Yale Divinity School. His research interests include the intersection of literature and theology, political theology, Christian ethics, and liberation theology. Born in Ukraine and raised in the United States since the age of twelve, he cares deeply about the development of a distinctly Ukrainian theology – one that arises from lived experience rather than foreign influence. He believes that the Ukrainian experience not only deserves validation on its own terms but also has much to contribute to the wider Christian and theological community.
